We've just been reading some fascinating stats from the US, suggesting that 75% of pregnant women make a special point of shaving or waxing their pubic hair before their baby's due date.
And that's made us wonder if it's something you would do? Or, if you've had a baby before, something you did?
The US report we read also suggested that pregnant women who feel it's important to trim the old lady garden before they go into labour do so either:
* because they don't want midwives thinking that, to quote one woman, they're a "bit of a hairy monster down there"
* because they think the heavy bleeding they'll have for a few days after the birth will be easier to cope with if they've less pubic hair.
Would either of those reasons be the ones that'd make you go in for a quick bit of pubic-hair removal before the birth?
Please do share your thoughts on this with us by adding a post to this thread. We'd love to hear your views.

I did. I didn't shave down there much while I was pregnant (it gets hard to do once you have a bump) and then I panicked about what the midwife would think. Silly I know! Took me ages to do - had to stand in front of a mirror so I could see where to shave!

I 'trimmed' down there for the reason I didn't want to look like a hairy monster ha but doing it whilst pregnant was very difficult because like yellowp says I couldn't see a thing what I was doing!

I used to have a Hollywood wax down there and definitely kept on top of my appointments before labour! A family member was told by a midwife that if someone has a very hairy downstairs, they will dry shave the lady but I'm sure that's only if they have to do an emergency c section!

I stayed natural during child birth,I really don't care what the midwife or doctors thought, nothing to be ashamed off, wasn't in the way of birthing my son either. X

My plan tomorrow is to have a tidy up before labour.
I know it's silly but if I feel less self conscious for doing it then the more relaxed I will be.
