Trying to conceive

Me and the Hubbo have just started 'trying' really. I was on the pill for 7 years, the mean nurse put me on the mini pill and I didn't have a period for a year. I came off the Pill then I had issues with naught cervical cells. The lovely Pink Pad app has correctly predicted AF for 2 months. I have only just started paying attention to ovulating and such and I am currently in the 2WW...... How on earth do you resist testing?! Its all I seem to think about! I am becoming a little attached to this site like i did with Hitched when planning our wedding.
How do you survive the 2WW, do I need a hobby?

Definately need to find something else to keep you occupied/distracted otherwise you will prob drive yourself slightly crazy. Also if you make it to day 14 without testing I will be extremely impressed as most of the ladies here seem to cave in from 10dpo onward haha x

If you find the answer, please tell me. This is my 1st cycle ttc no 2 but I've been a nightmare symptom spotting. Am testing tomorrow at 11dpo. Hope you manage to last out till day 14

Every 2ww I had, I convinced myself I was pregnant!

I am 8dpo at the moment... Ooooh I'm determined to get to the day past AF is due. I know its not quite the same but if i can give up chocolate and cheese for lent I can wait 7 days... Soo now i'm off to start knitting a scarf to keep me busy! I am sure Mumdrum will keep me entertained!

I hate the 2ww!

2ww is a fortnight in which I become increasingly crazy and obsessive as it goes on..... I hate it!!!

I'm another one that is still looking for the answer to this. I tell myself every time that I will not test until 14dpo but I always cave. I'm 7dpo today and telling myself I won't test. We'll see. Although that said, I've started temping this cycle so I'm hoping that my temps drop off near the end which should stop me testing.
Unfortunately I've had a lot more 2ww's than I would have liked!!!

lol TT xxxx
You can tell I've lost my positivity about all of this can't you??? Just preparing myself for the worst

The two weeks wait doesn't bother me - it's just the couple of days before I'm due on that I find difficult. Generally I'm too busy to think about it at other times.

Raincloud... busy doing what? I need to be busy doing whatever your doing! Lol!

CA - the 2WW is what puts me off temping - the only part of my cycle I like is the 'hoping' bit and watching my temps drop would be heartbreaking I think. I know AF arriving is heartbreaking too but you get to hope she doesn't arrive right up till when she does, where as waking up every morning to a decreasing temperature terrifies me.

I'm actually done with the hoping now. I just need some reality but I think you do whatever works best for you. Good luck!!

Sooooo proud of myself, I've still not tested. I've had the usual signs that AF is going to visit on Friday. I have kept myself busy (might have got myself a new job!) but trying to resist testing until Saturday!!

Well done for resisting testing!
I have no idea what the 2WW feels like as I've never had one (stupid long cycles)! But if I did I'm sure I'd be testing from 10dpo onwards, especially in the first couple of cycles!

Ah well, no need to wait.... AF showed up today, and I think we will be pausing the TTC as I got a new job! I don't start for 3 months so we will be getting lots of practise in instead...

If anyone finds out the answer to this let me know! I agree that temping provides me with some sanity, if I see my temp drop then I know that my period is on the way and I find that easier to take than just having AF arrive without warning.
Sorry that this wasn't your month GS. I'm just coming to the end of a 9 month break in TTC so know how it feels. It's tough to stop, but if it's the right thing for you then it's what you have to do
