Getting Pregnant <
Trying to conceive

Hi, I'm new to this site so not sure on how it all works but here goes! Me and my partner have been actively trying for about 6-7 months, my periods are every 47-50 days and have been on time! (Some people say I'm lucky but some say it's going to be hard for me to fall preg) anyway I'm on day 54 no sign of period just cramping for past 2 weeks and extremely sore boobs, done pregnancy test this morning and looked negative so threw it! Then just before I was heading for work I instinctivly looked again and it looks like there's a very faint shadow where the line should be! I don't know what to make of it as never been preg before! Should I just wait longer?

Did you time how long you left the test before discarding it? I did a test and threw it away as it was negative. Looked again about half an hour later and there was a line. The next day I did another test and timed the 5 mins and was surprised about how long it felt - there was no way I waited that long the first time!
Test again tomorrow morning and take a watch to time it.

I always struggle with the tests that show a line as a positive result. I took to using the Clear Blue Digital tests as they just say 'Pregnant' or 'Not Pregnant' rather than needing to figure out a line! They are a bit more pricy (think around £13.99 for a pack of 2), but I always used to wait about 3-4 days after my period was due before testing. Maybe its worth trying one of those if you are unsure?!
Its definitely a minefield though, this whole pregnancy malarkey!
Good luck, I hope you have a positive real soon xx

Hi saraweez13, I can't actually remember only about 20 mins? Yeah think I may have to just go with a digital just hate the fact it takes so long especially with.A 50 day cycle as no idea when I'm ovulating! Haha xx

Thanks for the advice swanny85 good to know the price for a digital, just going to have to wait I guess! Xx

I am not sure on the price of them - but have you tried the Ovulation sticks? I don't know how they work or anything, I have always known when I am ovulating with bodily changes (won't go into detail, its TMI!! Lol) but have known people that have used them and they have really helped!
How late is your period?

I am currently 3 days overdue! I usually start on day 50 of my cycle as I have long ones lol... Ive been cramping but feels different to normal period cramps! Plus sore nipples! Sorry TMI lol.. I actually haven't thought about ov tests as so new to all this! But maybe worth a try xx

If you are usually bang on time on Day 50 and there is still no sign, I would do another one hun. I am no expert, but they say to use your first wee of the day too. I did that with my little boy and this one we are expecting as that's what the advice said! Both times I got a positive straight away. So maybe try in the morning?! If you can wait that long! Lol. Just so you know, the clear blue digital ones also tell you roughly how many weeks you are, which might help if you are new to it all
Keep me posted with how you get on! xx

Ahhh thanks for the advice chick! I did do this one this morning but tbh I should of waited the full 10 mins! Its just so disheartening that you just give up and chuck the thing after 2 mins! Lol, I'll give it a couple days then try again! Thanks again and will do!!! Xx
