Trying to conceive

I'm new to this forum so hello first of all and I'm looking for a little advice. Me and my husband have been TTC for a year, I'm 32 and he's 31, I've had all my blood tests done and these are fine and I have regular periods, my husband had a sperm test and his sperm count was slightly low but nothing to worry about. Anyway, for about the past 6 months, I've had a pain in my right ovary (only ever my right side) when I ovulate which lasts for a week to 10 days after ovulation. I went to the docs about this about 4 months ago and they said it was nothing to worry about as they couldn't feel any cysts etc. I had a cervical polyp removed 2 years ago so had an ultrasound for that and other than the polyp, it didn't pick up anything else dodgy.
The pain feels like my ovary is being pinched and is better with a heat pad and is worse if I'm sat down for long periods e.g. at my desk at work and it sometimes moves down to my pelvic bone but is mainly about where my ovary is. Every month I try to convince myself it's implantation pain but every month I come on my period so it's obviously not. It's not agony but it's very noticable and I have had to take paracetamol to get rid of the pain before.
Has anyone else had anything similar to this? I'm booked in at the docs again but am preparing myself for them to say there's nothing wrong with me again!!

I'm sorry I can't help with this but I would really push your doctor to check this out and not just say there is nothing wrong. You should ask for a referral. Best of luck.

I agree with Candy Apple - if it's something that is genuinely worrying you and causing physical pain I would go back and see a different doctor and get a 2nd opinion x

Thanks for your replies, I'm due on on Sunday so might wait to see if I come on then or not. After 12 months of trying I'm amazed that I still have hope every month - I guess it's a positive thing :-) x

Just a little update, went to docs and am being referred for an ultrasound, she said it was probs an ovulation cyst and that you can ovulate from the same side a few months in a row apparently - who knew!? So having a scan to check it's nothing dodgy.

Well I had my scan today and the nurse said I have 4.5cm simple cyst on my left ovary, even tho I have pain on the right side of my abdomen she said my ovaries are very close together so that explains why! I have to go back in 6 weeks for another scan to check the cyst has gone. Has anyone had anything similar to this? Do the cyst go away on their own?

I'm glad you've got an answer. Sorry I haven't had a cyst so can't offer any advice but hope it goes on its own soon xx
