MFM Awards 2024 Winners — Products for your pregnancy
Award-winning pregnancy products, tested by parents-to-be around the UK, along with expert judges and the MadeForMums team.
Pregnancy can be a true mix of excitement and challenges, as you prepare for your new baby while experiencing your body changing week by week.
There are plenty of products out there designed to make your life easier and the MadeForMums Awards judges – and our home testers – have been putting them to the test.
Pregnancy fashion and activewear, nursing bras, pillows, tests and services have all been tried and tested by our team of mums-to-be. We rated them on their comfort, efficacy, quality and value for money, seeking out the products and services that really deserve your time and money.
Our pregnant testers attended in-person antenatal classes, snuggled down with support pillows, bounced on birthing balls and more to find the best pregnancy products for 2024.

Pregnancy Fashion/Active Wear
Key features we tested/judged — Quality and design, comfort for parent, quality of fit, ease of washing and drying, style, worth the money.
Gold — Wombat & Co. London Wombat Shell, £154.90
Why it’s a winner: "Fantastic quality, easy to use, and has longevity," were some of the comments the Wombat Shell earned from our judges and home testers. This fun, functional, versatile, and beautifully made coat, is available in 4 colours and offers a 4-in-1 solution: suitable for wearing throughout pregnancy, front and back babywearing, and general postpartum wear. "In the past I have babyworn and my coat hasn't been able to fit around my baby, I worried about their hands and feet getting cold but this coat solves that problem!" said parent tester Lana Claire. The fabric is super soft, breathable, shower proof, wind resistant, environmentally-friendly, and (best of all) machine washable. Our judges also loved how the stylish coat offers lots of space so children up to 4 years can be carried in it.
In the words of parent tester Lana Claire, who tested this with their 8 week old: "This beautiful coat is so easy to use. It has an extra panel to fix into the back of the coat if you are babywearing, if not you can choose not to have the panel so you can have a more fitted coat. It's great to have that multi-functionality."

Silver — Natal Active Luxe Maternity Leggings, £55
Best for: Comfortable and stylish everyday wear.
In the words of parent tester Ella, who was 31 weeks pregnant at the time of testing: "I really rate these leggings. They are quite expensive, but the quality is excellent, they wash and dry easily, and they are so comfortable. They feel really supportive around my bump without feeling too snug or restrictive and, they have deep pockets which is always a bonus!"
Buy from: Natal Active
Bronze — Jorgen House Sportswear Leggings, £80
Best for: Supportive and fashionable activewear.
In the words of parent tester Hattie, who was 33 weeks pregnant at the time of testing: "Although these leggings are expensive, having tested them and used them to run in over the last couple of weeks I would say they are definitely worth the money. They are so supportive that I don’t even need to wear the pregnancy support band I bought to run with. They’re lightweight, feel very well made, and I love the high waist aspect."

Maternity/nursing bra
Key features we tested/judged — Comfort for parent, quality of fit, ease of washing & drying, effectiveness and worth the money.
Gold – Momcozy YN21 Nursing Bra, £24
Why it’s a winner: Ideal for both pregnant and breastfeeding mums, this seam-free bra is wire-free and provides exceptional comfort, flattering support, and sits flush against your skin without any pinching or prodding. Our parent testers found the bra to be super soft and our judges were impressed that it has been designed with a lactation consultant to ensure your breasts are cared for as they change throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding. The clasp on the strap can be used with one hand, making breastfeeding easy and accessible. Our parent testers loved how it comes in a range of colours: "I’ve even purchased another colour myself! I think this gives the answer to how much I like this bra," said parent tester Teri.
In the words of parent tester Teri, who tested this during pregnancy and with her newborn: "It’s so soft it feels like I’m not even wearing a bra! The straps aren’t very thick like most nursing bras, so you can wear a vest top without the bra hanging out. It’s also very easy to feed with, as the ‘flap’ to reveal the breast doesn’t get in the way and it’s easy to open and close with one hand."
Buy from: Momcozy, Boots, and Amazon
Silver — Natal Active Artemis Maternity & Nursing Sports Bra, £45
Best for: All-day comfort and support.
In the words of parent tester Lesley, who tested this product during her third trimester: "Although it was a little tricky to fasten at first, this bra has been a godsend! It’s the first bra I’ve had that fits and is comfortable and supportive all day. I will definitely continue to use this for breastfeeding. I love the sports style of the bra, which is great for breast development as they got bigger. It also comes with a strap extender which can be used as your breasts grow."
Buy from: Natal Active
Bronze – Marbra The Leakproof Everyday Nursing Bra, £42
Best for: Quickly absorbing any breast milk leakages.
In the words of parent tester Bonny, who tested this with their 5 month old: "I breastfeed my baby every 3 hours and I was very surprised at how effective this bra is at absorbing my leaky breast milk. At times I didn’t even realise I was leaking as the fabric dries very quickly, so goodbye breast pads! I also love the support the bra provides and how flattering and soft it is. It’s easy to use and I was able to release it and do it up with one hand."
Pregnancy/nursing pillow
Key features we tested/judged — Comfort for parent, ease of use, style, quality and design.
Gold — bbhugme Pregnancy Pillow, £153
Why it’s a winner: The full body length pillow won over our judges with its clever microbead filling, which parent tester Ionela said helps "the pillow adjust to your body shape, making you feel like you are being hugged." Praised as being a great multi-use item for your pregnancy journey and beyond, our testers felt it “retains its shape” well and “fits to your body to give you what you need.” It also scored highly in the looks department with everyone agreeing it made a “stylish” addition to any bedroom, and the carry case made it ideal for travel.
In the words of parent tester Ionela, who tested this when 21 weeks pregnant: "This pillow has helped me get a restful sleep, has alleviated my back and pelvic pain, and provided leg support which has reduced my feet swelling. It doesn’t take up a lot of space, meaning that my husband can still fit on the bed without falling off!"

Silver – Babymoov XXL Maternity Pillow, £59.99
Best for: Value for money.
In the words of parent tester Ellie, who tested this when 15 weeks pregnant: "The most comfortable pregnancy pillow I have ever tried – it has really improved my comfort and sleep and I would 10/10 recommend. The quality is great, the organic cotton cover is soft and easy to wash, and its uses through pregnancy, postpartum and breastfeeding make it 100% worth the money."

Bronze – Breast Intentions Baby Feeding Support Block, £29.99
Best for: Convenient travel option for bottle or breastfeeding parents.
In the words of parent tester Natalie, who tested this with their 11 month old: "It’s super-easy to set up – literally 2 breaths inflate the pillow. I wish I’d known this existed as soon as I had my little one, it would have saved so much frustration, arm and backache trying to beat the sofa cushions into the right position to support my arm/her head."

Gold — Lola&Lykke Core Relief Pregnancy Support Belt, £99
Why it’s a winner: This clever band has been designed with a pregnant woman’s health and comfort in mind. Parent tester Kayleigh commented that she "loves how well it works, how easy it is to use, and how I can keep adjusting it to fit me as I grow." Perfect for relieving common pregnancy ailments such as back pain, SI joint pain, and round ligament pain, it’s stretchy and breathable and helps lift the weight of your growing bump to bring some much-needed relief. We love that it includes a hot/cold therapy pack to soothe your aches as it eases the pressure on your back, pelvis, bladder, and spine. Not only that, this band is ultra-soft, breathable, and adjustable so you can find the perfect level of comfort and support.
In the words of parent tester Kayleigh, who tested this during her pregnancy: "I was surprised at how easy this was to use, to be honest. I expected it to be more fiddly! The belt was easy to adjust to fit, and it eases the pain on my hips and back. It might be a little pricey, but it really does work wonders with pelvic pain, and the added bonus of the hot/cold pads is genius."

Silver — BABYGO Birthing Ball, £29.95
Best for: Easing pregnancy aches and pains.
In the words of parent tester Ella, who tested this during her pregnancy: "This is a useful product for anyone to use in the later weeks of pregnancy, when you suffer from more aches and pains. It’s a slightly higher price point than other pregnancy balls I’ve tried, but the quality is great and I love that it comes with an exercise guide with tips on how to get the most out of it."
Joint Bronze — Rock Me Momma Postpartum Ice Pack, £16.99
Best for: A sustainable option for post-birth comfort.
In the words of parent tester Louise, who tested this a week after giving birth: "Although I started using this when the immediate postpartum pain was over, it’s a good product and very useful, especially in the first few days after giving birth. I think the instructions need to be a little clearer, but it’s easy to use and fit neatly into my underwear."

Gold – Happy Parents Happy Baby in-person antenatal classes, £199-£259
Why it's a winner: Covering a wide range of topics from preparing for birth to baby first aid and health, these modern in-personal antenatal classes really impressed our judges and testers, with our parent testers reporting that they felt much more prepared for birth and life with a newborn after attending the classes. Parent tester Marianne, who started attending the course when she was 23 weeks pregnant, told us she now feels "MUCH more confident and positive about labour." As well as 2 hour in-person sessions in social venues, the course offers a live-online Q&A session with different specialists and an online portal with notes, videos, downloads and discounts. The price includes your birth partner's attendance and, considering this as well as all of the information and resources included, our testers thought Happy Parents, Happy Baby offers excellent value for money and a really useful service.
In the words of parent tester Hollie, who tested this while pregnant: "The trained midwife who ran the course was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions that people had, no matter how silly they may have seemed. It was nice to connect with other parents in the same situation as us and we met some lovely people who we will stay in contact with, thanks to the WhatsApp group! Me and my husband definitely feel a lot more confident entering the next stage of our lives as parents."

Pregnancy test
Key features we tested/judged — Worth the money, effectiveness, quality, design, ease of use.
Gold – Clearblue Pregnancy Test with Weeks Indicator, £9.99
Why it’s a winner: Judges were impressed with the reassurance this test provides, as within as little as 3 minutes the Clearblue Pregnancy Test will display a 'Pregnant' or 'Not Pregnant' result in words that appear directly on the screen. If the result is positive, the test will also indicate time since conception occurred (1-2, 2-3 or 3+ weeks). As well as the handy weeks indicator, the test claims to be the first and only test that is as accurate as an ultrasound scan at dating pregnancy – it is so sensitive you can test up to 5 days before your missed period. The judges thought this was the gold standard of pregnancy tests, and a very worthy first place winner that removed any doubt about if the tester was pregnant or not.
In the words of parent tester Francesca, who tested this with when trying for a baby: "The pregnancy test is a quality product with a great modern design. The digital screen is large and it’s an easy to read result."

I found it was quick and convenient to use, with clear results. It costs more than the usual pregnancy test brands but it's not silly expensive, and worth the extra for the fact that it is more environmentally friendly."
