Apple and cinnamon porridge

Add apple and cinnamon to this simple porridge, suitable from 7 months

Apple and cinnamon porridge
  • 1 whole apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 150ml milk
  • 15g fine porridge oats
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon


  • Step 1

    Cook the apple in a saucepan with the water for 5 minutes or until tender.

  • Step 2

    Meanwhile, put the milk and porridge oats in a small saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer, stirring occasionally for 3-4 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Mash or puree the cooked apple and add to the porridge with the cinnamon. Stir and serve.

  • Save portions of fruit purees, such as apple or pear, in the freezer to stir into breakfast porridge or puddings.
