Tingle your baby's tastebuds with this fresh green puree, suitable for first weaning

  • 1 whole avocado, large and ripe
  • 6 whole mint leaf


  • Step 1

    Slice the avocado in half lengthways, and twist to separate the 2 halves. Carefully remove the stone with the tip of a knife.

  • Step 2

    Scoop the avocado flesh from the skin using a dessert spoon. Place in a bowl and mash with a fork or potato masher.

  • Step 3

    Finely chop the mint and mix into the mashed avocado. For newly weaned babies, puree until smooth if preferred.

  • Serve with breadsticks or fingers of toasted pitta bread as a dip for older babies and toddlers.
