Chicken and root vegetable mash

This meat and veg mash is a great way to let your baby join in the family roast dinner, suitable from 7 months

- 50g chicken, diced
- 1 whole sweet potato, peeled and diced
- 1 whole carrot, peeled and diced
- 1 whole parsnip, peeled and diced
- 25g cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 pinch oregano, (dried)

Method

Step 1
Boil the diced vegetables together until tender, then drain and add the oregano. Stir to mix.

While the veg is cooking, fry the chicken in a little vegetable oil until fully cooked, and chop into 1cm pieces.

Mix the chicken into the cooked veg, and add the grated cheese and let it melt.

Step 4
Mash the mixture thoroughly, leaving small lumps.
- You can use ready cooked leftover chicken for this recipe, and vary it by using other vegetables, so it’s a great way of letting your baby join in with a family roast dinner.
