Singer rips open her jacket to reveal baby bump after energetic performance
Beyonce dramatically announced that she’s pregnant during the MTV Video Music Awards.
She gave assembled journalists the heads up while being photographed on the red carpet. Wearing a voluminous orange dress by Lanvin, she held her tummy, showing a little bump and announced, “I have a surprise!”
The singer, who is married to Jay-Z, then did a costume change, into a Dolce & Gabbana purple blazer and black trousers. She came on stage and teasingly announced “I want you to feel the love that’s growing insideme.” She then did a rip-roaring performance of Love On Top.
At the end of the song she tore open her blazer and stood rubbing her baby bump. The camera then switched to a proud-looking Jay-Z in the audience, while his friend Kanye West delightedly slapped him on the back.
Beyonce has been hinting recently about her plans to have a baby at some point soon. In an interview with Piers Morgan she revealed that she wanted a baby at 30 – she’s now 29 – so it looks like she has her wish.
