Elton John has revealed that his 4-year-old son Zachary is currently nursing a broken collarbone – after jumping off a climbing tower in a playground. The singer’s husband David Furnish explained that Zach’s accident came after David and Elton warned him not to jump. Not once. Not twice. But 3 times. Sound familiar?
“We told him not to do, and told him not to do, and told him not to do, and all his friends were doing it and he couldn’t understand why we didn’t want him to,” David told People magazine. “You turn your back for half-a-second and he jumps off the climbing tower.” We’ve been there, David, we’ve all been there!
The accident happened just 2 days before Elton and David were due to host one of their legendary lavish Oscar aftershow parties, raising money for Elton’s AIDS foundation. Luckily Zach and his broken clavicle are recovering well, which meant that both he and his 2-year-old brother Elijah could attend their dads’ celebrity-studded party (see pic above – where Zach looks like he’s holding his arm rather carefully).
“He’s fine,” commented David. “It’s part of little boys and growing and bumps and bruises and fortunately not major broken bones.”
And do we think Zach has learnt his lesson? Hmmm, looking at that cheeky face…
