Frozen 2: yes, Disney confirm it's coming
There'll be high-pitched choruses of 'Let it go' ringing round the country as Disney confirms that a Frozen sequel is in the works
Frozen fans rejoice; Frozen foes - hands over your ears. Disney has confirmed it's working on a sequel… so it's time to build another snowman! The official announcement was made at Disney's annual shareholders meeting yesterday.
Disney went on to reveal on Twitter that the directors of the first film are returning. "Forecast: Winter weather ahead! @DisneyAnimation developing #Frozen2 with Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee," they tweeted, alongside a picture of Elsa, Anna, Sven and Kristoff.
"At last, I can say - FROZEN 2!!!! I'm beyond excited to create alongside my Frozen family!" director Jennifer Lee tweeted in reply, perhaps rubbing her hands with glee...
And the directors aren't the only ones tweeting their excitement. "Dreams really do come 2!!! #FROZEN2 #itsofficial," tweeted Kristen Bell, who voices Anna, alongside a picture of her resting on a bag of ice (below).
We're not surprised Disney is making a sequel. Since its release in November 2013, Frozen has made a whopping £900m at the box office alone – and that's without all the Elsa dolls and other Frozen merchandise taken into account. The film also got industry recognition by winning Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Song (for, of course, Let It Go).

No release date or production details for the new film are available yet. But if you can't wait for the sequel, you can instead watch the short animation Frozen Fever. This 7-minute short will be shown first at screenings of the new live-action adaptation of Disney's Cinderella – in cinemas from 3 April.
