Pregnant Kelis files for divorce
Pregnant singer Kelis has spilt from her rapper husband Nas
It looks like the honeymoon is finally over for singer Kelis and rapper Nas who are said to be splitting up despite her being seven months pregnant.
The pair’s representatives have confirmed that she has filed for divorce and have asked the media to “respect their privacy at this difficult time”.
According to reports, the pair finally decided to call it a day citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
She is said to be requesting spousal support and child support from Nas as well as asking for joint legal and physical custody of their unborn child, which is due on July 21st.
Kelis, 29, and Nas, 35, who are said to have spent the last two weeks apart, dated for two years before tying the knot in Atlanta in January 2005.
The pair first met at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2002.
Kelis, real name Kelis Rogers-Jones, has had an impressive nine top forty singles as a solo artist also scooped a BRIT Award in 2001 for Best International Newcomer.
