We love hearing celebrity mums talking about the joys of parenthood, the beauty of pregnancy and amazing experience of labour, but it also pleases us to hear that life as an A-list parent isn’t quite as impossibly perfect as it appears.
Three celeb mums have been speaking out about the reality of having babies, and in Megan Fox’s case, it aint pretty.
Describing her experience of labour, the Transformers actress pulled no punches, telling Access Hollywood she was not prepared for the pain she felt.
“I was screaming for an epidural when Brian was driving me to the hospital because my water broke on its own and I was immediately on level orange alert pain," she confessed.
“It was so intense. I thought I was going to be really tough and make it, I was gonna labour to like 8cm… but the first contraction that I got was horrific!”

Another refreshing perspective on motherhood came from Reese Witherspoon, who has given a reassuringly normal assessment of her health two months after giving birth to baby Tennessee.
“I don’t know if I’m bouncing back.” She told Extra. “I’m slowly crawling back. You know, all of your joints feel wobbly, and your head is sort of confused.”
Well done Reese - we are sure many new mums can relate to a feeling of confusion and bit of wobble!
To complete our trio of straight talkers, Bond girl Rosamund Pike has spoken frankly about her non-traditional family set-up.
Rosamund, who was jilted by former fiancé Joe Wright two weeks before their wedding, has an eight-month-old son with boyfriend Robie Uniacke and no desire to walk down the aisle any time soon.
“It is interesting to break the rules. I’m not married, I have a baby, and it feels infinitely more right." She told Vogue.
“You try to do the right thing or the conventional thing, and it doesn’t work, and then you’re free again.”
