Hi, I have just found out I'm pregnant (5 weeks) I've not told my employer yet as I'd rather wait until I've had my first scan, but I do have a question regarding Maternity leave/annual leave....
So I'll be looking to go on Maternity leave at the end of December 2018 for the full 52 weeks, during this time I will accrue 28 days annual leave (our holiday rota starts Jan to Dec) as I'm hoping to take the full 52 weeks as i can't take it within that year should my employer allow me to carry the 28 days over to the following year or if they refuse should they pay me my holiday entitlement?
(Hope that made sense)

Congratulations. My employer accrues holiday as if you were at work and can tag it onto end of maternity leave (even if it straddles holiday years). I also accrue missed bank holidays. I'm not sure if this is a legal requirement though.

Thank you 😁
I'm hoping my employer will do that too, once I've had my first scan Ill have a chat and see what they say, I think I'm just overthinking it!
