Just in case anyone is interested. I have found some great nail varnish that is safe to use as much as you like during pregnancy as it is Formaldehyde and Toluene free. It's from boots and it's called sinful colours. Only £1.99 a bottle too. It is good stuff too, lasts really well and dries really quickly. Think I may have found something better than my beloved Barry M!!!

You're not supposed to use normal nail varnish in pregnancy??? I've been painting my nails as usual!

Me too Hep, wasn't aware that it was an issue - I've been in the nail salon a few times too. Thanks for the suggestion though LP.

I've been shellac'd and painted almost constantly
Shall look at the colours though, I'm a nail polish hoarder!

I didnt think it was a problem to paint your nails either....

I have read it can be an issue as they have alot of chemical in them usually so you shouldn't use them alot. I like to repaint for each outfit!
Even if you are not pregnant they are great nail varnishes :-)

Never heard before that you can't use nail varnish during pregnancy, I would have thought if there was a risk then salons wouldn't be prepared to do it incase of being sued.

Gosh I never heard (or considered) that either. I like Hep wore Shellac on my toes until I got to 38 weeks and then only replaced it with nail polish incase of quick removal being required!
