Smoked haddock and mash

This cheesy mash combines haddock with potatoes, sweet potato and leek, suitable from 8 months

- 150g smoked undyed haddock, filleted
- 150ml full-fat milk
- 150g potato, cubed
- 100g sweet potato, cubed
- 1 whole small leek, very finely chopped
- 10g unsalted butter
- 30g cheddar cheese, grated

Method

Step 1
Place the fish in a small saucepan. Pour over the milk. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat and then simmer, partly covered, for about 10 minutes until the fish is cooked.

Step 2
Remove the fish from the pan and mash it with a fork, removing any bones. Set the milk to one side.

Step 3
Cook the potatoes and leek for 15 minutes until tender. Drain and mash with some of the remaining milk, butter and cheese.

Stir in the flaked fish.
