Barbie is well known for her pointed toes that make slipping into a pair of stilettos a breeze. But after 56 years of wearing heels, Mattel has finally decided to give poor Barbie's feet a break – by putting her in flats. Yes, you read that correctly. Flat shoes!
Barbie will finally be able to wear trainers, flat sandals and shoes for the first time ever thanks to new articulated ankles. The new feature means her usual tip-toe stance can be altered to fit into shoes without a towering heel.
The new dolls come with a pair of heels and flat shoes to take full advantage of Barbie's new foot freedom.
