Jané (pronounced Hanay) is known for its reliable and robust pushchairs. And now, with new launch Kendo, Jané has cut its cloth a little different - creating a cool ‘urban’ buggy.

We've had an early spin of the Kendo and really liked its push and manoeuvrability. Plus, we're fans of the the deep red and grey styling.

Jané currently have a few buggies available in the UK market: the Jané Rider and the lightweight Minnum, as well as travel systems like the Epic, the Trider and the Jané Muum.

They’re also set to get a fresh new look with a range of brand new colours hitting the stores during 2019.

Is it travel system compatible?

Yes, the Kendo is travel system compatible with three Jané car seats: Koos i-Size, Matrix Light 2, and Matrix i-Size.

You can also buy a coordinated Micro or Transporter carrycot, which clicks on to the chassis.

There's also a matching changing bag to complete the set.

It's easy to figure out how to fold the Kendo - all the grey parts you see on the black stroller frame (such as the sides) indicate when there's a function - taking a leaf out of Bugaboo's design. Plus there's a good-sized shopping basket under the chassis, which will withstand up to 4kg of bags or shopping.

Not keen on the red and grey (called Red Being)? No worries, the Kendo also comes in the following swatches:

  • Sailor (navy)
  • Squared (grey with black insert)
  • Jet Black (black with grey insert)
  • Boho Pink (an orangey-pink colour)
  • Bronze (peachy beige with bronze detailing)
  • Tech Mouse (a mix of light and dark grey shades).

How much does the Kendo cost?

The Kendo basic package - chassis and seat - is available to buy from Jané's website for £399. A package including the Micro carrycot and Koos i-Size infant car seat is £699.
