A mum posted messages on Twitter while paramedics tried to revive her son. Florida mum Shellie Ross sent out tweets on the social networking site after finding her 2-year-old son Bryson floating in the family’s swimming pool.
As paramedics tried to save his life, Shellie, who uses the online name ‘Military Mom’, posted the message, “Please pray like never before, my 2 year old fell in the pool.” Five hours later, after her son was pronounced dead from drowning, she wrote, “Remembering my million dollar baby” before uploading photos of Bryson to be viewed by her 5,000 followers.
Her actions have made people question the sharing of private information over the internet. One user wrote, “It shows the repercussions for social media gone awry.” But Shellie has defended her tweeting. “No one has a right to question my actions. I didn’t tweet-by-tweet the accident,” she said.
Her friend Trisha Haas added, “She twitters a lot and was close friends with people in the blogging community.”
