The best strollers that can be used with carrycots

If you want a light buggy that you can use from birth with a carrycot to toddlerhood then these are the best ones for you

There was a time when most lightweight strollers couldn’t be used from birth as they didn’t enable a baby to lie flat or come with carrycots.

That traditionally meant that lightweight pushchairs were never the first choice of buggy for parents of newborn, as most were only suitable from 6 months up.

But that’s all changed!  The last year has seen a whole host of brand new lightweight buggies with infant carrycots or cocoons, so great to use with a small baby.  And, what’s even better, most are travel system compatible too!

They are still a little heavier than our very best lightweights, but still all under 9kg, meaning they could be the only buggy you’ll need to buy.

Here are the best lightweight pushchairs suitable from birth…

1. Mountain Buggy Nano, £249 (carrycot additional £49) total – £298

Another new buggy for 2018.  Baby Jogger has taken its super compact stroller and now made it suitable for newborns, with the addition of a carrycot.
