From toasted jelly sarnies to bananas dipped in ketchup, expectant celeb mums seem to experience the strangest cravings of all. Not so for down to earth Drew Barrymore, who has been indulging in classic comfort dish, macaroni cheese.
The actress, who has been being pictured clutching a sonogram picture and with her husband, Will Kopelman, protectively touching her tum on her wedding day, has been speaking out about her comfort-food cravings, crowning herself the “Carb Queen.”
Food lover Drew, who is reportedly expecting her first child, divulged her desire for comfort eats to Food & Wine, saying, “I’m a carb queen. I’ll always order macaroni cheese, but I don’t want it to be fancy. I want it to be as close to Kraft as possible.”
With her typically laid-back attitude, the star also admitted that she prefers simple home cooking to highfalutin foodstuffs, saying, “I want the classic dishes to taste like how I remember them. I get a little bummed out when there is too much fancy stuff going on and it doesn’t resemble the original dish at all.”
Former child star Drew has previously spoken about the kind of mum she would like to be, telling the Daily Mail, “I’d definitely be the kind of parent who enabled my child’s dreams. I’d just watch and nurture and guide them. I think I’d be a good parent, actually.”
With her relaxed attitude to pregnancy and delicious homely foods in her kitchen, we couldn’t agree more.
