Dad-to-be enlists help of unsuspecting ambulance making a pit stop
New mum Claire Diver, 33, has given birth on a petrol station forecourt after her quick-thinking husband spotted an ambulance refueling and enlisted the paramedics’ help. Claire and husband Peter were on the way to the hospital in Ashton, Greater Manchester, when the baby started crowning. With no time to spare Peter pulled into the nearby petrol station. The startled paramedics were presented with Claire very much in labour and helped deliver baby Elize who weighed in at 6lb 14oz. The proud parents were then whisked to hospital. Claire said, “It wasn’t funny at the time but now I can see the funny side,” reports the Mirror. It certainly beats just popping in for a pint of milk and some petrol!
