Why it’s a winner: A dream to push, steer and fold, this smart-looking pushchair has a reversible seat that can recline flat. As well as the option of using the GetGo carrycot, the stroller can also hold a soft cocoon, known as a Cosy Pod, which is ideal for newborns and kept our testers’ babies cosy, warm and comfortable in cold weather. Ease of use was a big plus point, with one tester commenting that “it’s very easy to change the direction of the seat and simple to recline it with my baby in the pram, so I could lie my baby down smoothly once he had fallen asleep.” Another tester appreciated the addition of a coffee cup holder, while the plush GetGo Mitts got the thumbs up for keeping the pushing parents’ hands toasty warm on chilly days.
In the words of parent tester Lana, who tested this with their 10 week old: “I feel confident that the pram will grow with us as my baby gets older and goes through different developmental stages, from lying flat to sitting up, and from parent-facing to world-facing. The pram is incredibly easy to steer and navigate different terrain and has great suspension, plus it’s easy to unfold and fold, especially when separated into 2 parts (making it easier to store). I was so impressed; I expected a pram of such high quality to cost more.”

I particularly liked how compact the Oyster 3 is and how easy it is to fold into a freestanding unit. There’s even a built-in handle, so you can carry the pushchair onto a bus or up a flight of stairs easily.”

Comprising: Peach chassis, carrycot fabrics, seat unit fabric, carrycot/seat unit frame, hood, mattress, baseboard, raincover, elevators, bumper bar, car seat adaptors.
Why it’s a winner: Like its predecessors, the top-of-the-range Peach 7 is built to last and accommodate your growing family, with a sturdy frame that can support a second carrycot or seat, converting the pushchair into a twin or double. It excels as a single stroller; our testers found it “really smooth to push and steer thanks to large all-terrain wheels and suspension, simple to fold and unfold with one hand, and very comfortable for baby.” The huge, easily accessible under-buggy basket drew praise from our testers, as did the generously sized carrycot, suitable for overnight sleeping, which our tester described as “a fantastic bonus which allows me to transfer my baby easily into the house to continue her nap safely.”
In the words of parent tester Sophie, who tested this with their 1 month old and 23 month old: “This incredibly stylish buggy is an investment, but represents good value in the long term as it has an upper weight limit of 25kg and can evolve with your expanding family. Joint Gold — UPPAbaby MINU V2 & Carrycot, £764.97
Comprising: MINU V2 pushchair, bumper bar, carrycot, adaptors.
Why it’s a winner: Offering the comfort of a big pram for newborns with the convenience and lighter frame of a compact buggy, this elegant pushchair looks as premium as its siblings (Vista and Cruz) but has a smaller footprint, making it ideal for homes with limited storage space or for using on public transport. Our testers found it “agile to push in shops and over rough pavement, quick to fold and unfold with one hand and very light to carry up stairs or onto the tube.” The seat unit can hold a child weighing up to 22kg (around 4 years old) and boasts multi-position recline and an adjustable legrest. What makes this especially good for newborns is the MINU chassis is compatible with the same carrycot that is used on the Vista and Cruz – it’s spacious, well padded and suitable for overnight sleeping.
In the words of parent tester Cailey, who tested this with their 1 month old: “This is a great option if you’re looking for a quality pushchair that’s suitable from birth to the toddler stage, lightweight, compact, easy to travel with and looks great. The carrycot is really well built – comfortable for baby, well insulated and easy to take on and off the chassis. When folded, the base of the buggy takes up very little room in the boot of my car and can also be carried using the handy built-in strap, making it easy to transport.”

Silver — egg2 Stroller & Carrycot, from £1,108
Comprising: egg2 stroller, carrycot.
Best for: Style.
In the words of parent tester Catherine, who tested this with their 2 month old: “This is a great product and well worth the cost; it’s ideal for families small and big as it can turn into double buggy. The size, iconic style and design are perfect, plus it’s really well made and intuitive to use. The frame is robust and although not the lightest, it is easy to fold; the large slim wheels make navigating different terrain simple, the brakes are strong and the hood helps to shield my baby from light and some noise. The carrycot, which is suitable for occasional overnight sleeping, kept my baby snug, safe and comfortable enough to stay asleep even while I pushed her over lumpy and bumpy ground.”

Bronze — Silver Cross Reef & First Bed Folding Carrycot, £1,170
Comprising: Reef chassis, seat unit with hood, bumper bar, sun sail, raincover, First Bed Folding Carrycot.
Best for: Fold-flat carrycot.
In the words of parent tester Julie, who tested this with their 4 week old: “The premium quality, durability and smooth pushing of the pram definitely makes it worth the money. However the standout feature for me is the ability to collapse the carrycot, which makes it compact enough to fit in my car boot and take up less space when stored at home. The collapse feature has definitely allowed me to take my baby out more often as it fits in my car boot; my previous non-collapsible carrycot did not. The Reef carrycot is much bigger than the other Silver Cross one we own, and the spacious width and length of the Reef mean my baby is more likely to be comfortable inside it for longer.”

Gold — Baa Baby Sheepskin Pram Liner, £89
Why it’s a winner: Thick, luxurious and super soft, this liner is made from salvaged sheepskin and fits most single prams and pushchairs. Our testers were impressed by how quick, easy and intuitive it was to install on their buggies, that it didn’t interfere with the folding mechanism and what a difference it made to their babies, with one commenting, “it’s made my stroller so much warmer and cosier; for the first time ever, my baby is actually sleeping in her stroller as she is now comfortable.” The liner is also effective at keeping babies cool in the summer, so can be used all year round.
In the words of parent tester Jessica, who tested this with their 15 month old: “The liner is cut from a single piece of sheepskin so there are no awkward seams, and the fleece is lovely and snuggly, keeping my baby warm outdoors but not too hot when we we dash into warm shops. It looks and feels like a high quality piece and it adds a little luxury to our every day.”
