10 David Bowie-inspired baby names for your little star
From Ash to Ziggy, these glamrock name ideas all have a touch of star quality
Whether you've been whistling along to Starman or re-watching 80s classic Labyrinth – David Bowie fans have been marking the music legend's death in their own way this week.
But if you're pregnant or planning to have a baby, then you might want to go a step further, with a Bowie-inspired name for your little one.
And Take That's Howard Donald did just that when his son was born on Tuesday 12 January – 2 days after Bowie died of liver cancer.
"Bowie Taylan Donald came into this world on Tues 12th Jan," he tweeted.
"Mummy and daddy suffering sleep deprivation but life is wonderful, he is divine."

'Heroes' is one of Bowie's best loved songs from his 1977 album of the same name.

From the red planet – Bowie's space age-inspired single 'Life On Mars?' was released in 1971.
4. Rebel
Rebel Rebel, you've torn your dress… don't blame us if Rebel grows up to be a rule-breaker. Inspired by Bowie's 1974 single Rebel Rebel.
5. Ash
Ashes to ashes, funk to funky… Ash is a subtle reference to Bowie's Ashes To Ashes, released in 1980.
6. Jean
The Jean Genie was the title track on Bowie's 1973 Aladdin Sane album. (Paint a lightening bolt on your wee one's face to complete the effect.)
7. Genie
If you really want a 70s vibe then go for this more standout reference to The Jean Genie – and refer to your baby's baby grows as jumpsuits.
8. Diamond
Diamond Dogs was Bowie's 8th album, inspired by the post-apocalyptic world in George Orwel's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four.
9. Ziggy
Bowie adopted the stage persona of Ziggy Stardust in the early 70s. Talking about the rock star guise with Rolling Stone, he said: "I mean he was half out of sci-fi rock and half out of the Japanese theater. The clothes were, at that time, simply outrageous. Nobody had seen anything like them before."
10. Stardust
Ziggy's outlandish surname would work as a quirky middle name.
