Olympian Greg Rutherford shares first pic of baby

The Olympic long jumper and his girlfriend welcome their first baby

Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford and his girlfriend Susie Verrill have become parents for the first time.

Announcing the birth on Twitter, the 27-year-old Olympic athlete couldn’t be happier with the news.

“Happiest day of my life,” he tweeted.

He also shared the first picture of his baby – a touching shot of the newborn’s hand clutching dad’s finger with mum’s pink manicured finger also in the shot.

“And then there were three…” new mum Susie tweeted alongside the same picture.

The baby is rumoured to be a boy named Milo, after Susie’s brother Paddy allegedly let the name slip with a tweet that he’s since deleted.

“Congratulations to my sister @rugbycupcakes and @GregJRutherford on the birth of baby Milo! He’s beautiful,” he tweeted. Oops!

Greg announced Susie’s pregnancy on Instagram 6 months ago with a picture of the couple holding their baby scan photo. “We’re having a baby!! #baby,” he commented at the time.

Congratulations both!
