A British man, who was born female but underwent a sex change, has reportedly given birth.
If true, he would be one of five men in the world who have given birth to a baby despite undergoing a sex change. This is believed to be the first case in the UK.
The man, who is unidentified, is thought to have given birth to the baby last year.
Details were revealed by Joanna Darrell from Beaumont Society, a support group for those who have changed their sex or who want to do so.
Joanna said that the man is in his 30s and asked about the practicalities of having a baby after having a sex change. According to Joanna, the man later contacted the support group for thank them for their help and told them he had a baby.
The gender of the baby is unknown and the birth is unconfirmed, too.
According to medical experts, a woman who becomes a man can still have a child if the womb was not removed in the sex change surgery.
