Sweet Fish and Fruit Curry for babies

A creamy super quick fish curry with just the right amount of sweetness and spice to tickle little taste buds without overwhelming them

- 1 sweet apple – peeled, cored, cubed
- 1 ripe pear – peeled, cored, cubed
- 1 banana – peeled, sliced
- 2 tbsp plain unsweetened yogurt
- 150ml (5fl oz) of whole milk
- 1⁄4 tsp minced ginger
- 1⁄4 tsp minced garlic
- 1⁄4 tsp ground cumin
- 1⁄4 tsp ground coriander
- Pinch of ground black pepper
- Pinch of ground turmeric
- 1 x 100g (31⁄2oz) white fish fillet (skinless, boneless) – cut into 1” chunks
Method

Step 1
Place the fruit, yogurt, milk, ginger, garlic and spices (cumin, coriander, black pepper and turmeric), into a blender and blend until smooth.

Pour the fruity mixture into a pot, bring to the boil and simmer (uncovered) on low heat for 5mins to ensure all the spices are cooked through, stirring occasionally.

Step 3
Add the fish chunks to the sauce and continue to simmer for a further 5-6mins, until the fish is flaky and breaks apart easily.

Step 4
Serve with plain overcooked rice. Blend for very young babies if they’re eating purees, or chop up the fish chunks to small pieces if they’re eating lumps.
