Week 4 recipes

It’s now time to introduce more chewy textures and meaty flavours – this week we include fruity pork and vegetables and chicken with sweet potato. At this stage, it’s good to start making the purees a little thicker, lumpier and increasing mealtimes to three a day.

Week 4: Shopping List

Fruit: 1 medium apple, 50g dried apricots, 2 medium fresh apricots, 1 medium pear

Veg: 200g butternut squash, 100g cauliflower,  4 carrots, 1 medium onion, 300g carrots, 300g new potatoes,  0.5 medium leek, 0.5 medium parsnip, 1 small swede, 200g sweet potato

Meat: 200g chicken breast, 25g pork mince

Fridge: 60ml plain yoghurt, cheddar cheese, unsalted butter

Cupboard ingredients: baby rice, 1 chicken stock cube, 60g red lentils, 1 whole bay leaf, 475ml very low vegetable stock or water
